Regions

The interior of British Columbia, is sliced into 4 vertical regions shown below (maps approximate). Although, when crossing the province by car from Vancouver, at Hope, one would either travel north along Highway #1 or the Coquihalla thru Kamloops and east to Banff and Calgary or travel the slower scenic route of Highway #3 thru South Central BC.

It is this southern route along the “Crows Nest” Highway #3, from Hope to just east of Castlegar and Nelson we are profiling here. This is where one can wind their way thru the history of South Central BC using Crows Nest Highway #3 and the BC Rail Trails, visiting the communities along the way.
